Who We Are

Beer League is more than just your weekly game, it is a community built around bringing players together to celebrate the spirit of lacrosse and enjoy friendly competition. Whether you have never picked up a stick before or are on break from D1 competition, everyone is welcome. After each game, keep the camaraderie going with the Fifth Quarter at our favorite local watering hole. Exercise, competition, community, and beer, we have it all.

Got questions?

Anyone who is 18 years of age and older who has a good attitude and wants to learn and play the game of field lacrosse.

No prior lacrosse playing experience is required to play in Beer League Lacrosse, LLC games. We have players who have never played the game, all the way up to former Division 1, 2, and 3 college players. Getting a lacrosse stick and practicing throwing and catching before you play will greatly improve your skills and enjoyment of your first game.

Standard field lacrosse equipment designed for the game of lacrosse, as well as a lacrosse stick are required. Helmet, gloves, elbow pads, and chest/shoulder pads are required. An Athletic cup, mouthguard, and cleats/turf shoes are highly encouraged. Players must provide their own equipment and are responsible for making sure it is in good working condition.

"Beer League" is an expression meant to convey that our league is fun and not overly serious. Some players do get together after games to socialize, but it is in no way required to participate in games.

YES! Although some of the players have never played lacrosse before, or have limited experience, many have been athletes in other sports and are still very competitive.

Anyone with a bad attitude, likes to yell at refs or teammates, is overly concerned with the outcome of the game, or is overly physical. Players who are looking for a highly physical game should look elsewhere.

The short answer is yes. There is potential for injury in any sport, even sports like golf, tennis, basketball, and pickleball. Lacrosse is a contact sport. While the rules of Beer League Lacrosse, LLC are adapted from youth lacrosse rules in an attempt to limit the physicality of the adult game and the potential for injuries, while rare, injuries can and do occur.

Why We Play

Beer League Lacrosse LLC was created in 2023 in Bonney Lake, WA when a longtime youth lacrosse coach, but never a player himself, realized there had to be other coaches, parents, and adults who grew up around the game but never had the opportunity to play. What started as a single pickup game quickly grew into a league built for anyone 18+ from first-time players to former competitive athletes who simply want to continue playing the game we all love. Along the way, Beer League has become more than lacrosse. It has become a community centered around fitness, friendship, competition, and connection.

For owner and father Steve, Beer League also became a way to honor the legacy of his daughter Eastyn, who passed away at 7 weeks old due to complications from a rare genetic condition called Williams Syndrome. Beer League proudly supports Williams Syndrome awareness and makes donations toward research for treatments and a cure. We encourage anyone interested to learn more about the condition and support continued research efforts.
